PDG Ray joined Caringbah Lions Club in 1981. Ray joined the then struggling club following a successful

membership of Caringbah Apex, where he held many club positions, including President and Secretary. He also served on the District Cabinet as a successful, and innovative, Bulletin Editor.

He successfully returned Caringbah Lions Club to a vibrant club with great community involvement.

Ray married Carol in 1969 and they have a son, Robert, and daughter Joanna. He loved his Grand Kids.

He trained as a teacher and over time teaching in small Primary schools and later moved to

secondary and obtained his Arts degree. Prior to his retirement his last posts were as Principal at Airds and Blakehurst High schools.

Ray became an active continuous Board Member of his Club, served our District in many

capacities including Youth of the Year Chairman, Region Chairman and Cabinet Secretary in 1987/88. He successfully stood for Vice District Governor in 1998-99 and DG in 1999/2000.

Ray passed away on February 2 2019.
